Thanks Again Hey "laluzlitespeed" I just sent you an email with this info, but just so everyone knows, I've done a lot more testing with this fix, and it turns out that it's much better to cut out two "V" shaped notches in the bottom of the "spring sleeve" rather than having it be flush cut at the bottom. I'm going to send you one, so you can add it to your light, but if anyone else experiences this problem, be sure and let me know so I can send you the fix. Thanks! Stephen

Thanks for all the help diagnosing the problem Rob! Turns out that just the straight "tube" approach is very difficult to get right, with regard to length. With a little judicious trimming of the sleeve, I think finally have a good solution. Pics coming...
Stephen, I just followed your procedure for the fix of the controller switch in cold weather. It was very easy to do but it maybe a week or more before we get some cold weather to test it out. From my experience, the problem was happening at temperatures in the mid-30's and below. The switch has a slightly stiffer feel to it but still easy to adjust the settings of the DS-500. Rob
Thx for your prompt information - #uptodate Greetings from Germany!
Thank you for building those lights, Stephen. Best thing I've ever bought, I wouldn't want to ride my bike without it. That's why I have a spare DS-500 just in case.

(Kickelhahn @ night, 6 km distance) Best regards
Now I can tell my wife I need the light for the lawnmower and not my bicycle. Hope nothing else breaks at your house.
