  1. Farewell!!!

    October 10-19-2016
Well, it's been almost 6 years since the first prototype YouTube video and 4 major design revisions, but I finally sold the last light yesterday. Congrats to Barry on the being the last buyer! And thanks again to all my great customers! Couldn't have done it without you. It's time for me to shift some priorities and drop back into a support-only role with DesignShine. Although no new lights are being produced, I love hearing your experiences with them, so drop me an ...

  2. Winding Down in the Coming Months

Hey Guys! Well, it's been a fantastic 5 years of meeting lots of great folks and trying to "push the envelope" of bike lighting technology, but the time has come for me to take a break and hang up the DesignShine(TM) project in order to invest that precious "free time" in the family as the kids are growing so fast! Sad to see these go... They really are very versatile lights with a lot of performance in a tiny little package. BUT, moving on to the taillights, 3 uploaded to the store today, with 20 more coming this week. Received the second iteration of the new seat rail mount ...

  4. What a Trip!

Some of you probably know about this, but we've been in South Korea for the last two months completing an adoption, which is now final! Hooray! I haven't been selling any lights during this time, but will try to have the store reopened on the 31st. I'll have a decent stock of taillights, but headlights won't be available until later in the fall. It's been a VERY interesting experience in Korea to say the least. In our day-to-day commuting and while being out and about, I've being trying to ...

  5. Why you also need a daytime headlight!

And this is why you NEED a very high power and WIDE angle daytime-use headlight. Note how the crossing vehicle was coming out of a brightly lit area into the shade. Fortunately it looks like the rider wasn't seriously injured.

He was probably focused on the truck, crossing from the left, so the car coming from the right at an angle was a real surprise. The rider got on the brakes hard and started to turn, but not quite enough time.
