  1. Build #2, April 18, 2012: Lights shipping & Another head banging event

    [UPDATE]
OK, slightly more good news. So the issue that I describe below is actually slightly different than I originally perceived. Here's what I know for sure...

    Taillight: No problems.

    Headlight:
Main LED status indication CAN be turned off. This is good, and exactly how it should be for bar operation. This avoids the lightening strike mode issue that I described below. This is how I will normally ship the light (also in Threemode as noted below) ...

  2. Build #2 , April 9, 2012: The Final 50

I say "final" just because they are the last of the build 2 housings that I had made. I still hope to make another 50 total out of build 3, but that's still up in the air at the moment with the CNC shop being out of commission for machine repair.

Here's a shot of the final 50 awaiting final assembly. Also a shot of the headlight lid assembly, wired and ready to install. All of the lids for the 50 lights have already been pre-wired like this. The "goop" that ...

Ok, I've made a few edits and additions to the user's manual, including the following description on the lens removal process. I've included the save date in the file name, so you'll always know if you have the latest version. If you follow this link to the Google Site and scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll see the updated file entitled:
    "DesignShine_quick_start_manual_4_3_2012.pdf"

All of the first 20 lights have been shipped (except for a few international ...

  5. Build #2 , Mar 30, 2012: Flash Pattern Video + additional build info

Got into a groove with the lids tonight and finished all 50 of the remaining lids (expoxied switch and soldered lead wires). Also finished all 50 remaining housings with the power wire o-ring install.

Check out the new Flash Pattern Video.

The lights are still attached to an RC truck I was using for testing, so it's a bit cheesy, but I think you'll get a sense for how they look. Video in general has a hard time conveying ...
