Finally got my prototype design back with the front face O-ring concept! So far, so good. Just a few more tweaks and it should be ready to go for machining. I've located a source for a black silicon version of the O-ring, so hopefully it'll just blend right in once the case is anodized. This will allow the font polycarbonate cover to be removed to allow lens changes/replacement while remaining waterproof. Now the taillight can be configured for horizontal or vertical operation ...

Building lights...building lights... whew. Took a break to take a few shots of the helmet mount with no extender bar and with the small pack mounted to the back of the helmet. Playing around with different lens combinations to optimize for medium to slow speed single track on level 3, but still capable for high speed downhill runs on level 5. Nice balance in this configuration. Triangular shaped battery pack conducive to wedging into vent slots.
