Finally got my prototype design back with the front face O-ring concept! So far, so good. Just a few more tweaks and it should be ready to go for machining. I've located a source for a black silicon version of the O-ring, so hopefully it'll just blend right in once the case is anodized.

This will allow the font polycarbonate cover to be removed to allow lens changes/replacement while remaining waterproof. Now the taillight can be configured for horizontal or vertical operation by the user, instead of me needing to build it specifically for one orientation.
