Don't let this happen to YOU!

I get a little sick to my stomach every time I watch this video...
This is exactly the type of scenario where you need a super high power, and very eye catching taillight that can grip a driver's attention from a long distance. You want drivers to SEE you and think, "Is that a police car or an ambulance? Either way I better slow down and give some room." On a high speed road like this, the sooner the better.
It looks to be early in the morning, and the sun was low in the sky and coming in from the front/right, relative to the driver. Also, for taller vehicles, where it gets harder to see a cyclist the closer you get, you doubly need to make your presence known at a long distance. I can't guarantee that the light would have prevented this, but I have a feeling that it would have. This was not an "impaired" or "criminally minded" driver, as he immediately pulled over and called 911. It just simply looked like he may have been looking down or been distracted by something and drifted over, completely unaware of the cyclist's presence. Thankfully the rider survived, but I don't know to what extent he was injured.
