Build #2 Progress, Dec 8, 2011 - Looking for one good CNC shop!

OK, these CNC machine shops are bumming me out. It's taken three whole week for me to initially hear "Yeah, It looks like we can do your job at the desired cost," only to be followed up with "I don't think there's any way we can touch that price." SO, it looks like I'll be dropping back to plan B, which is to go back to my original in-town machinist and have a smaller quantity made in the interim, while I'm still looking for the right machine shop to partner with. Thanks to an alert reader, who just so happens to be a biker AND a machinist, I may now have another promising lead for low cost CNC work at the larger quantities. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm expecting to take delivery of almost 40 POUNDS of lithium-ion packs tomorrow! I don't know why, but having that much energy contained in one box makes me really nervous. I think I'll spread them out into smaller "bunkers" when they get here.

I've finished a series of video tutorials on the lights and various aspects of the mounting system. As I get the footage rendered and uploaded, I'll be posting links in the Mounting Forum.

The first in the series is available now on YouTube.
