You'll shell out some bucks for this mount and the adapter, but if you just have to have a seat rail mount, this is about as slick as it gets.

There are DS lights running around on a LOT of high-end diamond frames out there, but they play nice on the trikes and recumbents as well. Here are a few good shots from recent customers. I would argue that if you're on a recumbent, or especially a trike, you really owe it to yourself to get some high power daytime warning lights. Note the customer was able to adapt the DS-1300 to a very tight spot by putting a bend in the extender bar. The headlight mount on the first Cruzbike pic is a nice adapter made by TerraCycle here in the US. You're probably wondering like I did, why not use the stub on the derailleur tube for mounting the headlight (on the trike). Turns out the owner preferred to use this as an entry/exit assist handle. Luckily I still had a few of my old 90 deg adapters hanging around.
Thanks to one of my recent customers for sharing these great pictures! Dual 1300s up front (shown with fluorescent green filters here) and horizontal rack-mounted DS-500 in rear. Talk about a sweet commuter bike! Gemini batteries are immediately plug-and-play compatible.
