The video that started the whole thing

Here's the original YouTube video that I posted showing the working prototype for the DS-500 under a variety of settings. Little did I know that I had a tiger by the tail.

It's surprising that none of the big lighting brands have come close to matching the DS-500.

Dinotte tried in a big way. When I first introduced the DS-500, people would call Dinotte and ask if they new of my light and how it compared to the Dinotte offering (the 400R), and then they would get a very condescending response of "you don't need that much light in a taillight." Lots of scare tactics trying to steer folks away from the DS-500. I never really understood why, since my little "garage operation" would never be a threat to them. Ironically, in less than a year, they came out with the Dinotte "Daytime" Red, quoting twice the output of the old 400R. Calling it the taillight "you've been waiting for." I just had to shake my head and laugh. Dinotte was very happy to sell the same 400R taillight (unchallenged in the daylight arena) for more than a decade, until I came along. So yes, I think the DS-500 has definitely raised awareness and pushed the "big boys" to do things that they wouldn't have otherwise. To me, that's a win-win for the cycling community. They may have rushed the "Daylight" to market (basically re-purposing the old 1200L headlight with red LEDs), since the electronics are incapable of driving it a levels low enough for night time use. And in a sweet stroke of irony, the DS-500 still beats it.

    Thanks for your various replies.

I understand the remote idea may be unviable. I just wanted to put the feedback out there. If enough people ask for it, I guessed you would give it some technical consideration.
